pro-abortion vs. pro-choice

pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. it means you are for letting someone have the choice. we let people make choices everyday, sometimes we don’t like or are in support of the choices they make.

in an earlier write-up i did of this i said that i let my children choose what they want to wear for the day, i don’t always like what they choose and i for sure wouldn’t choose that particular outfit for them myself…so i’m not pro-that ugly outfit, but i am pro-letting them choose what to wear even though i may not like their pick for the day.

yes, i know, giving my children the freedom to choose an ugly get-up is not the same as letting a woman choose to kill an unborn child..but my daughter chose an unmatching outfit this morning, so that’s why it came to mind.

i don’t support abortion. you won’t find me helping women into an abortion clinic. i support the right for a woman to choose to have an abortion, but i don’t like that choice. so you won’t find me picketing an abortion clinic either.

i choose to not associate with women i know to have had an abortion. i do not agree with their choice to abort, and that is not a choice i can just brush off.

the bottom line is that these two terms are not interchangable. you can support a persons right to choose, but you don’t have to support their choice.

pro-choice, anti-abortion.

the end.

Seriously, most of our choices do not involve life and death decisions over another human being. How can it serve women to tell them we value their children so little that we will allow you to kill them? It is easy to think we can have it both ways; “I am personally opposed, but I can’t force my morals on others.” What if someone wanted to rape the woman down the street; would we say that we cannot impose our morality on them? Of course not! I applaud your discomfort with abortion. You recognize what it fundamentally is- killing. It is not mean spirited to take the next step to eliminate the legality of such a choice. The unborn cannot choose! I am proudly anti abortion and proLife!
